Trade compliance built on the code behind every shipment
Every product that crosses an EU border carries an 8-digit CN code. Getting it right turns messy supplier invoices into clean reports and provides the foundation for a dozen other obligations. Strax Europe, powered by the IMEsolved AI platform, gets it right at scale.
We classify your goods and prepare your Intrastat reports automatically. The same classification can then be used to make customs, carbon, excise and other EU obligations far easier to manage.
The same challenge, from two different sides
The goal is the same: the right code, on time, with a clear audit trail. We support both companies reporting their own trade and partners reporting on behalf of their clients.
You report your own trade
You are an importer, exporter or retailer that handles its own Intrastat and customs paperwork. Your team may end up reclassifying the same products every month, correcting ERP data and chasing weights and values from other departments.
We take care of the classification and reporting work, while giving your finance team an audit trail they can stand behind.
Typical fit: Mid-sized and large companies with diverse product ranges, including discount and grocery retail, wholesale, manufacturing and e-commerce.
You report on behalf of others
You are an accounting firm, logistics provider or customs broker filing reports for multiple clients. Intrastat can be a low-margin, high-risk service that takes up valuable expert time.
Our platform lets you manage classifications and reports for all your clients in one place, with white-labelled outputs. Your team can focus on the cases that require judgement while the software handles the repetitive work.
Typical fit: Accountancy practices, 3PLs and forwarders, customs agents and ERP implementation partners.

Services that turn trade data into compliance confidence
Strax Europe supports the key steps behind EU goods reporting, from a raw supplier invoice to a completed Intrastat report, powered by the IMEsolved AI platform.
Invoice Data Extraction
We read supplier invoices and extract the trade data they contain, including product descriptions, quantities, values, weights, origin and supplier details.
We also flag missing information, so your team can work with clean, structured data instead of retyping PDFs by hand.
CN Code Classification
We assign each product the correct 8-digit CN code according to the EU Combined Nomenclature.
Using invoice data, product descriptions and decades of classification experience, the platform proposes the appropriate code with a confidence score. Cases with lower confidence are routed to a human for review instead of being guessed automatically.
Intrastat & Tariff Intelligence
We prepare cleaner Intrastat reports and show how each classification affects your wider obligations.
The same classification used for Intrastat also helps identify exposure to customs duty, VAT, excise, CBAM and other rules, allowing the same classification data to support several compliance needs.
From supplier invoice to compliance-ready reporting
Five clear steps take you from a raw invoice to a report you can submit, with human review wherever judgement is needed.
01
Capture the invoice
You provide the supplier invoice or trade document. It can be a standard PDF, a scan or a file from your ERP. No special format is required.
02
Extract the trade data
IMEsolved reads the document and extracts product descriptions, quantities, values, supplier details, weights, origin and line items. The information is then structured into clean data.
03
Classify to the correct CN code
Each line is classified against the EU Combined Nomenclature and given a confidence score. Low-confidence lines are highlighted for review instead of being processed automatically.
04
Fill the gaps and prepare the report
The platform flags any information that is missing for compliance, such as weight, origin or a supplementary unit. It then prepares the Intrastat report in the format required by your statistics office.
05
Use the data for ongoing compliance
The same structured and classified data provides a reliable basis for customs, VAT, excise and CBAM checks, supplier reviews and future reporting.
The Value
The value you gain
Cleaner data, more accurate classifications and reporting your auditor can trust, with far less manual work.
Clean CN8 data wherever it lives
We do more than file your reports. We also fix the CN8 data at its source.
The same product can have different CN8 data in your ERP, PIM and logistics systems, while an external source such as GS1 may hold yet another version. When these records fall out of sync, compliance problems follow.
Fix and complete each record
We correct incorrect or missing CN8 codes and fill in the information that is missing, including the supplementary unit (the “second quantity”, such as pieces, litres, pairs or m²) and net weight.
The result is one complete classification for each product.
One truth across every silo
ERP, PIM and logistics systems can each hold their own CN8 code, and those codes are often not in sync. GS1 may add another version.
We reconcile the data so the classification is correct across every system.
Bad data, real compliance risk
Incorrect ERP data can lead to rejected declarations, incorrect duty and audit findings.
We correct the data at its source before it reaches an authority.
Always current
The nomenclature is reissued every January, which means static systems can quickly become outdated. Our platform applies these changes in real time.
One correct and current CN8 code across every system
One correct and current CN8 code, together with the units and weights behind it, reconciled across every system so reporting and duty calculations start from clean data.
Built for companies that report and the partners who report for them
Whether you manage reporting in-house or support multiple clients, Classifai helps you turn complex product data into reliable classifications, clearer compliance processes and better visibility across the business.
Importers, retailers & e-commerce
Companies trading goods across borders that need reliable data for reporting, landed cost and regulatory checks.
Classification becomes especially challenging with large and diverse product ranges.
Accounting firms
Practices that file Intrastat and handle VAT for multiple clients, and want to turn a low-margin task into a more scalable and differentiated service.
Logistics & customs brokers
3PLs, forwarders and customs agents that already handle the relevant goods data and can use it to provide classification-driven services at scale.
Finance & tax teams
Internal teams that need better visibility into duties, VAT, tariffs and compliance, together with an audit trail behind the numbers.
ERP partners
SAP, Microsoft Dynamics and Visma implementers whose customers deal with Intrastat challenges inside the systems they already support.
Real classification expertise, supported by software
Strax Europe combines decades of Finnish Intrastat and CN code experience with the IMEsolved AI platform.

Real expertise behind the software
The platform builds on decades of expert-validated Intrastat and tariff work. That experience provides a strong foundation that is difficult for a new entrant to replicate.

Built for wider compliance
Accurate CN codes support Intrastat as well as customs, VAT, excise, CBAM and other EU reporting requirements, all starting from the same classification.
AI-native from the start
Classification is at the core of the platform rather than an added feature in legacy customs software.
Human review where it matters
Expert judgement is focused on the cases where it is needed most: the lines the system is less certain about.

European reach
Strax Europe has grown from a Finnish trade compliance specialist into a platform built for the wider EU.
Its roots are in Finland, with customs, Intrastat and CN classification experience dating back to 1994. The platform is designed to support companies and partners beyond Finland, starting with key markets including Sweden and France and extending across the EU.

FAQs
Find clear answers to the most common questions about EU trade compliance, CN codes, Intrastat reporting and how Strax Europe helps simplify the process.
Strax Europe helps companies, accounting firms and trade-service providers manage EU trade compliance.
Powered by the IMEsolved AI platform, we turn supplier invoices and product data into structured information for CN code classification, Intrastat reporting and wider tariff intelligence.
IMEsolved is the AI platform behind Strax Europe.
It reads supplier invoices, extracts the relevant trade data and classifies products according to the EU Combined Nomenclature. Each classification includes a confidence score and an audit trail.
An HS code is the 6-digit international classification used worldwide. A CN code is the EU’s 8-digit extension of the HS code.
Every CN code starts with a valid HS code and adds two EU-specific digits used for customs tariffs and Intrastat reporting.
Businesses whose intra-EU trade in goods exceeds the reporting threshold set by their country may be required to file an Intrastat declaration for arrivals, dispatches or both.
Thresholds and reporting requirements vary by country, and some countries have removed one trade flow or their thresholds entirely.
No. From statistical year 2026, Finland collects Intrastat data for dispatches only.
Arrivals reporting has ended, and import statistics are reconstructed using export data reported by other EU countries.
A supplementary unit is an additional quantity, such as pieces, pairs, litres or square metres, that certain CN codes require alongside net mass.
The CN code determines whether a supplementary unit is needed and which unit must be used. If the supplementary-unit field for the code is blank, only net mass is required.
The CN code is the starting point, but it is not always the complete answer.
CBAM and excise requirements are defined by CN codes. EUDR uses HS and CN codes to define its scope. Dual-use export controls use a separate classification system that only has an indicative relationship with the CN.
In each case, having the correct CN classification is an essential first step.
No. Strax Europe helps make classification and reporting faster and more accurate.
Many of our partners are accounting firms, logistics providers and customs brokers that use the platform to support their own clients.
